Privacy Policy

Effective September 1, 2026

DualScreenFold is designed to keep your game library and play data on your device. This policy explains the current app behavior.

On this page Summary Local data Data collection File access Purchases Third-party software Deleting data Changes and questions

Summary

The current version does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking. DualScreenFold does not upload your ROM files or save data.

Data stored locally

DualScreenFold stores the following information inside its local app container:

  • Game files that you choose to import
  • Battery saves, Quick Save snapshots, and Auto State data
  • Game titles and local library metadata
  • Screen layout and controller preferences
  • Play time and the date a game was last played
  • App preferences stored through Apple UserDefaults

This information is used only to provide the app features you request.

Data collection and tracking

The current version does not collect personal data, create user profiles, show ads, run analytics, or track activity across apps and websites. It has no tracking domains.

File access

You choose an optional game file through Apple's system file picker. DualScreenFold copies the selected file into its own app storage so it can appear in your library. The release package includes only homebrew games whose distribution rights have been cleared. It does not sell, search for, or remotely download ROM files.

Only import files that you are legally permitted to use. The app does not require access to your entire file library.

App Store purchases

Apple processes the optional DualScreen Pro purchase through the App Store. The app reads the verified transaction entitlement needed to unlock Pro, including refund or revocation status. DualScreenFold does not receive your payment card details.

Third-party software

DualScreenFold contains the open-source melonDS and Teakra components for local emulation. These components run locally inside the app. They are not analytics or advertising services and do not transmit your files to a separate service.

Deleting your data

Delete an imported game from the Library to remove its copied game file from the app. Included games are read-only app resources and are removed with the app. Deleting DualScreenFold from your device removes the app and its remaining local data, subject to Apple's normal device and backup behavior.

Changes and questions

This policy may be updated when app behavior changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when that happens.
